Pu Erh grows in the highlands of Yunnan, between 1,200 and 2,000 metres above sea level. The region’s red, mineral-rich soil and steady mountain humidity create ideal conditions for tea cultivation. Leaves are picked in spring and early summer, when mist and cool air slow growth, allowing the flavour to deepen naturally. The combination of altitude and fertile soil gives Pu Er its distinct earthy aroma.
