Terroir & Production

Grown in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, our hojicha begins in a landscape shaped by a warm climate and volcanic soils. The leaves are steamed, rolled and dried before roasting develops their mellow, earthy character and toasted nut notes, then finely milled into a smooth powder.
