Join us at Clerkenwell Design Week for these Events

Clerkenwell Design Week, now in its eighth edition, is an inspiring festival of local design taking place from 23rd - 25th May 2017. We're thrilled to be the event's official tea partner and to celebrate our involvement, we've collaborated with the area's best design studios and creative minds to create some very special spaces for you to explore. With a host of wonderful things to see and do in London's design district this week, we've rounded up our favourites, and of course, the best places to enjoy a complimentary cup of Newby tea around Clerkenwell...

Conversations at Clerkenwell Design Week

The festival's pop-up talks space, home to Conversations in Clerkenwell, will be located at Spa Fields, one of the area's lovely local parks. A beautiful outdoor space in the heart of the city's design quarter, Spa Fields will be playing host to a number of installations and pop-ups this week. Discover lectures and panel discussions on anything from furniture and architecture to public spaces and post-Brexit design, as well as talks from our friends at The Design Museum. Simply register with Clerkenwell Design Week online for free, check out the Conversations at Clerkenwell programme and book your talks. There'll be complimentary Newby tea on offer for everyone in attendance too. Spa Fields, Northampton Rd, EC1R 0DF

The Playbox Tea Stand

We're thrilled to announce that we've teamed up with Fraher Architects and Shape London to create the world's first Playbox tea stand especially for Clerkenwell Design Week. The bespoke stand, created by Lizzie Webster and her team, is an innovative folding installation that will be situated at Spa Fields, next to the talks space, from Tuesday through to Thursday. Come along and enjoy a complimentary tea from the Playbox, explore its immersive features, listen to music, take photos and enjoy our first pop-up, created in collaboration with some of Clerkenwell's most talented designers. Spa Fields, Northampton Rd, EC1R 0DF

Secret Garden at Vitra Showroom

A visit to the Vitra showroom is always an essential part of Clerkenwell Design Week and this year will be no exception. The company will be transforming their cutting-edge space into a secret garden, providing a cool, shady and beautiful surrounding in which to take in their designs and enjoy a cup of fine tea. Discover gorgeous pieces of furniture by the famed Charles and Ray Eames and sample our luxury Silken Pyramids for a taste of true craftsmanship. We'll also be joining Vitra in hosting exclusive afternoon teas in this very special space for the duration of the festival, but if you don't manage to book yours in time, don't worry; there'll be complimentary tea for all at the showroom from Tuesday to Thursday. 30 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5PG

The Little Brother Playbox

Find a second Playbox created by Shape London and Fraher at Brewhouse Yard this year. This smaller installation will also serve as an immersive pop-up, inspired by the form of a tea caddy, for the duration of the festival. Clad in cork to contrast the statement design features inside the box, the Little Brother Playbox is filled with striking tiles created by HARMONY. Just like the Big Sister Playbox at Spa Fields, this pop-up will be open to interact with during the day and closes up at night, just like a caddy or a toy box. Head to Brewhouse Yard to see it for yourself. Brewhouse Yard, London, EC1V 4LJ Register clerkenwelldesignweek.xom Visit us newbyteas.com
