Previously, we talked about what happens to tea when it reaches our factory. But the story isn’t over once our teas have been packed. Today, we look at what happens just before they leave.

Once our teas have been packed in our superior packing materials, they are good to go for at least 3 years. Every step of blending and production is strictly monitored by dedicated Quality Control (QC) personnel to check the product’s compliance. Our QC personnel can halt a line’s production if they find an issue, until it has been corrected. Every 30 minutes an SKU is randomly checked during its production cycle. A final Product Release QC is done by a separate team, which will independently check random SKUs of that batch before giving approval for despatch. Each product is then palletised and stored on an individual pallet location for ease of identification.

When arranging for despatch we ensure that all pallets are fumigated and are fit for loading food items. As per food safety guidelines, the shipping container also has to be fumigated within 48 hours before loading. Only after it is found that both transport and containers comply with our standard are they loaded with the goods. A final physical verification of the goods also takes place. None of this could be achieved without trained manpower - therefore we regularly train our team in various food safety and packing quality parameters throughout the year, through both internal and third-party training. All our employees can notify deviation in any area of working, and contribute suggestions and ideas to further improve the procedures of the factory. As you can see, bringing Newby teas to you is a big team effort!
