Description
This matcha bowl is a stunning example of Minoyaki pottery, originating from Gifu Prefecture in the Japanese Alps. The bowl features a captivating blue and green colour scheme, accentuated by the unique tenmoku or oil spot glaze.
This traditional glazing technique creates a glossy finish with distinctive metallic or speckled patterns, ensuring that each bowl is one-of-a-kind. During the firing process, the glaze melts and flows, resulting in an organic design that makes every bowl uniquely beautiful.
Crafted to the perfect size, this ceramic bowl is ideal for preparing and enjoying authentic matcha tea. To use, sift ceremonial-grade matcha powder into the bowl, add hot water at around 70°C, and whisk with a bamboo whisk for a traditional matcha experience.
