The love of tea
Master Tea Taster and founder Nirmal Sethia began his journey in tea at the age of 14. After decades of business success, he returned to his passion with a vision to restore tea’s integrity. His respect for tradition and instinct for quality shape Newby’s character, and his expertise ensures our unwavering standards.

Ethical sourcing & sustainability
We source from gardens that are Rainforest Alliance or Fairtrade certified, our teas are lab-tested and sustainably packaged, and our Preservation Centre in Kolkata is carbon neutral.
Freshness and preservation
At our Preservation Centre in Kolkata, teas arrive within days of harvest from the world’s finest gardens. Carefully controlled temperature and humidity protect their natural aroma and flavour until they reach the cup.

Preserving Tea Heritage
In 2011, our Chairman, Nirmal Sethia, created The Chitra Collection to safeguard the traditions and artistry of tea. Today, it is the world’s largest privately owned collection of historic teawares, with nearly 2,000 pieces spanning centuries and cultures.
