Black Tea (Sri Lanka)

About Ceylon Heritage Loose Leaf

In the late 19th century, when Sri Lanka was still named Ceylon, the cultivation of one of the most celebrated tea blends began. The product of a climate which sees two monsoon seasons sweep across the island, Ceylon tea is noted for its subtle aroma of citrus fruit. A distinctive black blend from the enchanting ‘Land of the Lions’.

Every blend in the Heritage Collection honours the origins of the world’s finest tea.

Terroir & Production

Grown in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, particularly in the Nuwara Eliya district, this tea flourishes at elevations above 1,800 metres. The mineral-rich soil, formed by ancient volcanic rock and fed by steady rainfall, combines with mountain breezes to produce leaves of fine structure and aromatic depth. This distinctive terroir defines the purity and refinement of Ceylon’s high-grown teas.
