Oolong Tea (Fujian Province, China)

About Fujian Oolong Loose Leaf Pouch 250g

This exquisite Fujian Oolong tea balances tastes of fruit and spice with a floral, orchid-like aroma. A premium blend from our loose leaf tea pouch range.
Produced in Fujian Province, China, this oolong tea is also known as Tieguanyin or “Iron Buddha” in Chinese.

Oolong tea is a semi-oxidised tea. The tea leaves aren’t left to react with oxygen for as long as in black tea production. The time spent withering and rolling the leaves is shorter and it results in a tea with a light but full-bodied flavour.

Terroir & Production

Fujian’s mist-covered hillsides, at elevations between 600 and 1,000 metres, provide the perfect environment for oolong cultivation. The mineral-rich red soil and gentle coastal climate nurture slow-growing leaves of exceptional quality. After careful handpicking, the leaves are withered, rolled and partially oxidised before being lightly roasted to enhance their aroma and complex taste.
