About Darjeeling - 25 Tea Bags

Arguably the most famous of all black teas, Darjeeling tea is cultivated in north India’s steep Himalayan foothills. Taking its name from the area in which it is grown, this luxurious blend is shaped by bright sunshine, cool, rainy nights and soft mountain breezes. Characterised by a floral aroma and the unique, delicate flavour of muscatel, Newby’s fine Darjeeling proffers a refreshing lift at any time of day. A favourite at afternoon tea and a treat first thing in the morning, this layered black blend truly represents the craft of fine tea.

Terroir & Production

Darjeeling’s highland gardens rise between 600 and 2,000 metres, where cool air, mineral-rich soil and steep terrain slow leaf growth, heightening aroma and flavour. During the second flush in May and June, the tender leaves are carefully handpicked and only partially oxidised, a distinctive process that preserves their golden tips and muscatel fragrance.
