Following some simple rules you can achieve a great look and feel in your tea tasting sessions with your friends.

Afternoon Tea Etiquette

Afternoon tea, as a meal, became fashionable during the early part of the 19th Century. A vogue started for grand ladies to ‘take afternoon tea’ in their private sitting rooms or boudoirs as a light meal, usually served around 4 o’clock.

As the trend increased in popularity, Afternoon Tea moved to the Drawing Room, where both ladies and gentleman were invited to attend select and intimate gatherings. Often the lady of the house would hold an ‘at home’ party on a set day of the month, when she would hold a ‘salon’ for interesting guests to pass the time of day.
